Local impact of world turmoil

The recent turmoil all over the globe is simply a product of an expanding Information age.  More and more people are made aware of their situation whether it be political, social, financial and yes, even environmental. One cannot avoid but contemplate if a new world order is about to appear.  In the midst of all of these happenings in other parts of the globe, we are nonetheless blessed since we have been spared from these calamities.

With all of these occurrences, it is very certain that oil will definitely go through the roof since majority of the nations that are experiencing unrest are oil producing.  One writer even commented that since Japan will be focusing it's efforts in rebuilding after the devastating earthquake and tsunami, it will further drive the prices of oil upward since the demand will significantly increase from this country.

Some have also predicted that there will be less interest in the government's infrastructure program or the Private-Public partnership which the Aquino administration has worked so hard for to bring in capital for much needed public needs like power, water, bridges to name a few.  One of the countries that has earlier expressed interest in this program was Japan, but since domestic turmoils are brewing especially the nuclear crisis, they may focused on building the part of the country that was severely affected.

It is often said that the smart business person earns whether the economy is good or if conditions are far from ideal.  The knack to see opportunities is a virtue and skill that can be practiced but needs to be exercised constantly.  While many are arguing about gold and silver, these metals will definitely shoot up like oil since these are commodities that do well when there is trouble all over the world.

One of the good businesses that do well in a down market is a Pawnshop or "Sanglaan". A form of collateralized loan which buys jewelry at a below market price and earns interest while being at it.  Whoever invented this form of business was a financial guru. 

The point of all of this small talk  is that our wealth is not by what we can hold nor is it in a bank account. (A bank account may not be enough to save you from a nuclear disaster).  Wealth is found in the mind and by the things that we cannot see with our 2 eyes.  By constantly practicing and building businesses, the wealthy character is created,
