We are pleased to invite you to nominate participants to the “10,000 Women Business Training Program,” a 150-hour classroom training that IESE Business School (Spain) and the University of Asia and the Pacific co-developed and a 50-hour mentoring from local and international business partners and Goldman Sachs people.
Goldman Sachs is a leading global investment banking, securities and investment management firm that provides a wide range of services worldwide to a substantial and diversified client base that includes corporations, financial institutions, governments and high net worth individuals. Its 10,000 Women initiative is founded on the belief that expanding the entrepreneurial talent and managerial pool in these economies – especially among women – is one of the most important, yet too often neglected, means of increasing economic opportunity.
The certificate course aims to target Filipino women entrepreneurs who want to grow their businesses. The Business Training Program consists of three (3) 50-hour modular courses spread out over three months. The program will provide classroom instruction, field learning and mentoring interventions to the selected women entrepreneurs. The women scholars who complete the course shall receive a Certificate on Business Management and Entrepreneurship at the end of the program.
For this year, a total of 100 scholarship slots are available. The tentative schedule is as follows:
A. Residential Module (1 week per month)
Venue: Meralco Management and Leadership Center (MMLDC) - Antipolo
- Module 1 – November 8 to 13, 2010
- Module 2 – December 6 to 11, 2010
- Module 3 – January 17 to 22, 2011
Graduation – January 24, 2011
B. Weekend Module (Friday afternoon and whole day of Saturday)
Venue: University of Asia and the Pacific Campus - Ortigas
- Module 1 – November 12 & 13, 19 & 20, 26 & 27 (2010)
- Module 2 – December 3 & 4, 10 & 11, 17 & 18 (2010)
- Module 3 – January 7 & 8, 14 & 15, 21 & 22 (2011)
Graduation – January 24, 2011
For those living outside Metro Manila, travel expenses may be subsidized and accommodations may be provided.
Candidates must be Filipino women entrepreneurs who meet the following qualifications:
- Have at least two (2) years of experience managing her business or enterprise that has growth potential (e.g. 2 years in operation, with 5 employees)
- Annual income less than P1.5 million);
- Have acquired at least two years of tertiary education or an equivalent vocational training;
- Have a sufficient level of Mathematical and English communication and comprehension skills;
- Need financial support to afford the cost of attending the training programs;
- Committed to attend and finish the program as well as assist in the development of the program;
- Not more than fifty (50) years of age.
Local Chambers and Industry/Trade Associations are requested to send the following to PCCI on or before 8 September 2010:
- A cover letter from the Chamber/Association endorsing the application of its nominees to PCCI.
- Duly completed application forms from all the applicants.
Qualified applicants will be invited for an interview by a Selection Committee. All applicants will receive a notification letter from the program about the status of their application.
